Trying to be cool?

"Here's what's sexy about it. It saves money," the president said of home insulation.
-President Obama

This is in reference to the "cash for caulkers" program that the administration has proposed that would add an additional $150 billion dollars to our already $12 trillion debt. I just am at a loss for words. For "sexy" to be in the president's press vocabulary describing a program is unsettling to me for whatever reason, I don't care who it is. He's also said "jackass" to the press (albeit he was referring to Kanye West and the whole VMA/Taylor Swift thing to which I agree with him - Kanye is a jackass), but still. It just doesn't seem "presidential" to me to say something is "sexy" and especially not in this context. I like the feeling of being able to relate to the president, but there's a difference between that and feeling like he's trying to be one of the cool kids. The office of the president should have dignity and not include being quoted as saying saving money is sexy. It just makes it too... too... too unpresidential. Again, I'm at a loss for words to really describe it.

And don't get me started on how he had to use notes on Thanksgiving Day to pardon the turkey... I mean, seriously?! All you have to say is "I pardon the turkey" or "we won't be killing and eating this turkey" or "be free little turkey!" (I mean he can say it more elegantly than that of course, but to need notes... ummmmmm, anyone else see a problem with that? Just memorize something short and sweet! Or do it off the cuff... NOT that hard, especially with that subject matter.) If a power blip ever happened for any time he's speaking to anyone about anything, that man would be in biiiiiiiiig trouble...

AHHHH 9 more days until Christmas!!
